LIVE NATION PRESENTS
SAMARA CYN
Originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Samara Cyn spent her formative years in an Army family, constantly on the move between Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, and Hawaii, and learning how to adapt. That nomadic upbringing shaped her dynamic approach to music and storytelling. Now based in Los Angeles, Samara wrote her first song in 2019 as a therapeutic outlet, and it quickly became a full-fledged passion and purpose. As her pen sharpened and her sound came into focus, she built steady momentum across streaming platforms, amassing over 90 million global streams to date.
Samara's blend of razor-sharp lyricism and captivating melodies has earned her co-signs from Tyler, The Creator, SZA, J. Cole, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Doechii, Nas, Doja Cat, Rapsody, Alicia Keys, Isaiah Rashad, and Teddy Swims. Her reach has extended well beyond music: Denzel Washington named her "Brand New Teeth" collaboration with Smino among his favorite current songs on Good Morning America. Hand-selected to tour with Nas, Smino, and Clipse, she has proven she connects just as powerfully on stage as she does on record.
Her debut EP, The Drive Home (2024), captured her evolving journey toward self-identity and arrived to wide critical acclaim, earning a spot on Complex's Best Albums of 2024 and praise from Rolling Stone, GENIUS, VIBE, UPROXX, Pigeons & Planes, and more. In 2025, she won SXSW's Grulke Prize for Developing U.S. Act, was named Billboard's Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month, and joined the XXL Freshman Class. Her follow-up EP, Backroads (2025), drew acclaim from COMPLEX, Billboard, The FADER, XXL, NPR, HYPEBEAST, OKAYPLAYER, and others, landing on year-end lists from SPIN, HYPEBEAST, and Billboard. She made her late-night debut on The Daily Show in July 2025 with a standout performance of "hardheaded," and later delivered one of the most talked-about sets at Camp Flog Gnaw.
In March 2026, Samara released Detour, a project that pushed her into more alternative and unconventional terrain while cementing her as one of today's premier lyricists. It quickly became her most commercially successful release to date. She brought it to the stage on her debut North American headline tour, which sold out, then took The Detour overseas with sold-out headline shows in London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Cologne, anchored by her All Points East performance in London. In September 2026, Billboard named Samara its 2026 Hip-Hop Rising Star, honoring her at the R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players event in New York before she performed at Billboard's R&B Hip-Hop Live concert at Brooklyn Steel.
Beyond music, Samara has been featured in campaigns with Nike, Kia, Ganni, TommyGirl (Hilfiger), and ESPN, and continues to expand her creative world through her own brand, Third Eye Lazy. She is already at work on her next project.
We acknowledge that this event will be held on Wurundjeri land of the Kulin Nation and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
